Cape Town’s Al-Quds Masjid, JUSA & a Corrupt Tafsir

Al-Quds Masjid of Cape Town who was awarded by the corrupt Jamiatul Ulama South Africa’s, Radio Islam, for having the ‘MOST INCLUSIVE ACTIVITY’, now Embraces the slanderers of the honourable Sahabah Radhiyalluhu Anhum- The non Muslim sect known as the Shia

Al-Quds Masjid will be embracing the renowned fuel for the fire of Jahannam, Muhammad al-Asi, the author of a corrupt Tafseer known as, ‘ The Ascendent Quraan’

On page 111 al Asi, a “Muslim” (acting like he is fit to do tafseer) infact the fabricator and slanderer puts Hadhrat Abu Sufyaan Radhiyallahu Anhu as a Muslim in inverted comma’s –
Analyze the text below:
“In Makkah, Rasul-Allah was surrounded and threatened more so by his extended family members than by the God-deniers who were not his relatives, that is, by such inveterate enemies as his uncle Abū Lahab, al-Nadr ibn al-Harith, and Abu Sufyan, even though the latter became a “muslim” toward the end of the Prophet’s life. Suffering that comes from “close ones” is more……”
Response:
Abu Sufyaan whom we say Radhiyallahu Anhu as this great Sahabi accepted Islam. Allah Ta’ala inserted Islam into the inner reccessors of Abu Sufyaan Radhiyallahu Anhu to the point the Hadith in Bukhāri states Abu Sufyaan Radhiyallahu Anhu admits:
“حَتَّى أَدْخَلَ اللَّهُ قَلْبِي الإِسْلاَمَ”
“To the point Allah Ta’laa inserted into my heart Islam“
Allah Ta’laa forgives the past once a person enters into the fold of Islam. Consider the verse below:
Quran – Surah No. 47 محمد
Ayah No. 2
Translation:
And those who believed and did righteous deeds and believed in that which is revealed to Muhammad-and it is the truth (that has come) from their Lord-, He will write off their evil deeds, and will set aright their state of affairs.
Allah Ta’laa says,
Quran – Surah No. 29 العنكبوت
Ayah No. 7
Translation:
And those who believe and do righteous deeds, We will expiate their bad deeds and will give them a better reward (than their expectation) for what they used to do.
There is consensus on this fact which the feeble non Muslim Shia reject for their own fancies.
Look at the situation of Hadhrat Amr bin Aas Radhiyallahu anhu which demolishes the claim of the demolisher of Islam and rejecter of Quraan and Ahaadith, al-‘Asi exposed in his fabricated commentary, The Ascendent Quraan.
Hadhrat Amr bin Aas Radhiyallahu anhu admits to the fact that he previously hated Rasulullah ﷺ but when the call of Emaan came, his past sins were staring at him in the face thus he withdrew his hand when pledging allegiance. He requested his previous sins to be forgiven.
Rasulullah ﷺ said
أماعلمت أن الإسلام يهدم ما كان قبله
“Don’t you know Islam wipes out all that which is before it”
It is narrated in Muslim, Ibn Shumaasa We visited ‘Amr bin Al-‘as (May Allah be pleased with him) when he was in his deathbed. He wept for a long time and turned his face towards the wall. His son said: “O father, did not the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) give you the good news of such and such? Did he not give you glad tidings of such and such?” Then he (‘Amr Radhiyallahu Anhu) turned his face towards us and said: “The best thing which you can count upon is the affirmation that: La ilaha illallah (there is no true god except Allah), and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah
I have passed through three phases, I remember when I hated none more than I hated the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and there was no other desire stronger in me than that of killing him. Had I died in that state, I would have definitely been one of the dwellers of Fire (Hell). When Allah instilled the love for Islam in my heart, I went to Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and said, ‘Extend your right hand, so that I pledge allegiance to you.’ He (ﷺ) stretched out his right hand, but I withdrew my hand. He said, ‘What is the matter, ‘Amr?’ I said, ‘I wish to lay down same conditions.’ He asked, ‘What conditions do you wish to put forward?’ I replied, ‘To be granted forgiveness.’ He said, ‘Do you not know that (embracing) Islam wipes out all that has gone before it (previous misdeeds). Verily, emigration wipes out all the previous sins, and the Hajj (pilgrimage) wipes out all the previous sins.’ Thereafter, no one was dearer to me than Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and none was more respectable than him in my eyes. So bright was his splendour that I could not gather enough courage to look at his face for any length of time. If I were asked to describe his feature, I would not be able to do so because I have never caught a full glimpse of his face. Had I died in that state I could have hoped to be one of the dwellers of Jannah. Thereafter, we were made responsible for many things and in the light of which I am unable to know what is in store for me. When I die, no mourner, nor fire should accompany my bier. When you bury me, throw the earth gently over me and stand over my grave for the space of time within which a camel is slaughtered and its meat is distributed so that I may enjoy your intimacy, and in your presence ascertain what answer can I give to the Messengers of my Rubb (the angels in grave).”

Can Mufti Saheb please provide a detailed Fatwa on a new Tafseer called ‘The Ascendant Quraan’ by Al-Asi?
How reliable is it?
What is the purpose of it?
If it is not reliable, then what is the status of the Imaan of those who believe in it?
Answer:-
Al-Asi, the author of the Tafseer titled, ‘The Ascendant Quraan’, is a Shia. He is fully in favour of Khomeini and the Islamic Revolution in Iran. Al-Asi is affiliated with the UK-based, pro-Iranian, Islamic Human Rights Commission (IHRC). Also, Al-Asi publicly swore allegiance to the Iranian Supreme leader in 1994. Following the 1979 Iranian Revolution, Al-Asi publicly expressed his support for the Islamic Republic and its leader, Ayatollah Khomeini.
The following excerpts clearly prove his inclination towards Shi’sm:
He states, “I think, a very relevant example of how we Muslims in the world, can go about bringing into existence a change that we all yearn for. The Islamic Revolution in Iran is a revolution that took place within a population base with an Islamic leadership that went about methodically rebuilding an Islamic Order from scratch, and with all the challenges that it had to face. It was attacked from outside by the imperialist powers from Iraq, in 1980, and that war has continued in many other forms and fashions up until this very day, and it withstood all of that while still trying to build its internal order. It ran into the same obstacles and the same challenges that the prophet of Allah and the first generation of Muslims faced.”
He also states that in the near future there is going to be a much better understanding of the Islamic Revolution in Iran amongst the general public. “There is in Iran, a culture of convergence amongst the Muslims from all schools of thought and from all historic perspectives, based on what we have in common rather than what separates us. This work has been going on for 20 years and as a result, there is better understanding among all Muslims who have been involved, whether they are scholars, whether they are intellectuals or plain Muslim activists and workers.”
He also states that the sectarian elements within both Sunnis and Shias are going to die out. The two groups will learn that whatever differences they have are trivial compared to the problems that they face. He mentions that Iran is the one and only Islamic state in the modern world.
Coming to your questions:
-
After understanding the position of the author and thereafter, reading or studying his Tafseer, one will be endangering his own Imaan. How can the Tafseer of a Shia ever be authentic? They harbour hatred and, in fact, swear the noble Companions (Radiallahu Anhum) of Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam; they believe that the Quraan with us is not complete; they accuse Aisha Radiallahu Anha of fornication; their Deen is based on concealing the truth and speaking lies etc.
-
We haven’t studied Al-Asi’s interpretation of Tafseer hence, we are not aware of his objective. It does, however, come across as him wanting to explain the verses of the Quraan according to the current times, which is based on his understanding, and ultimately, getting the Muslims to unite with the Shias. The explanation of the Quraan Sharif (which is referred to as “Tafseer”) has come to us directly from Rasulullah Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam and that is the accepted Tafseer which we are required to follow. Tafseer, according to the opinion of any scholar, is not permitted and is not worthy of being followed.
-
We have indicated in #1 that by reading the Tafseer of Al-Asi, one could lose his Imaan, particularly if he adopts an incorrect belief that is mentioned therein. We, therefore, advise the Muslim Ummah to refrain from studying this “Tafseer”. In fact, no bookshop should promote or sell the Tafseer of Al-Asi. It is only those that are inclined towards Shi’sm that will stock such literature.
