Crucifying the Easter Imaam’s Eggs

Whilst easter lovers cook up excuses to munch on easter eggs, the White House has banned the easter themed eggs from the annual Easter Egg Roll event.

More strangely the Imaam at Masjid Al-Quds in Cape Town came out guns blazing against any easter egg critic extending his deafening voice to the hot cross buns. Both these have its roots in Kufr.

Normally the masses are tricked into such acts with statements such as, “it is no longer the practiced ritual related to that religion therefore it may be now brought into Islam”, strangely the world of Kufr still celebrates Easter yet the Easter Imaam strikes fiercely at the haters of his bunny.

He said it is not Haraam to eat the easter egg and it depends on your intention. A Muslim dresses with the clothing of Santa and he enters the Masjid, will the claim be made, “it depends all on your intention”?

Has the Easter Imaam forgot, Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam said,

مَنْ تَشَبَّهَ بِقَوْمٍ فَهُوَ مِنْهُمْ

“He who imitates a nation is from them”

Abu Dawood

Here it is dependent on imitation, rather the love for this kufr practice exposes itself in embracing this ritual of Christians which has its involvement attached to their belief which the Quraan Majeed clearly rejects, their saying “Jesus was crucified”.

Allah Ta’alaa says,

they neither killed nor crucified him—it was only made to appear so. Even those who argue for this ˹crucifixion˺ are in doubt. They have no knowledge whatsoever—only making assumptions. They certainly did not kill him.

Surah Nisaa, Chapter 4 Verse 157

According to “The Legend of Paschal Eggs (Holy Cross Antiochian Orthodox Church)”, Easter eggs, also called Paschal eggs, are eggs that are decorated for the Christian holiday of Easter, which celebrates the resurrection of Jesus.

Nelson Thomas says in his book Christianity, “Easter eggs symbolize the empty tomb of Jesus, from which Jesus was resurrected. In addition, one ancient tradition was the staining of Easter eggs with the colour red “in memory of the blood of Christ, shed as at that time of his crucifixion.”

Murray, Michael J.; Rea, Michael C. (20 March 2008). An Introduction to the Philosophy of Religion: “Eggs in Christianity carry a Trinitarian symbolism as shell, yolk, and albumen are three parts of one egg.”

According to many sources, the Christian custom of Easter eggs was adopted from Persian Nowruz tradition into the early Christians of Mesopotamia, who stained them with red colouring “in memory of the blood of Christ, shed at His crucifixion“. (Culture & Progress: Early Sociology of Culture, Volume 8.

The Christian Church officially adopted the custom, regarding the eggs as a symbol of the resurrection of Jesus, with the Roman Ritual, the first edition of which was published in 1610 but which has texts of much older date, containing among the Easter Blessings of Food, one for eggs, along with those for lamb, bread, and new produce.

As for the Imaam’s love for the hot cross buns claiming its all about the intention. Some food for the brains demands, what would one say if one came in a Muslim home and saw a cross on his wall with a statue of Jesus? Would the claim of intention work then? Well lets see what is a hot cross bun!

Nelson Thomas again explains in his book Christianity, “The bun marks the end of the Christian season of Lent and different parts of the hot cross bun have a certain meaning, including the cross representing the crucifixion of Jesus, the spices inside signifying the spices used to embalm him at his burial and sometimes also orange peel to reflect the bitterness of his time on the cross”

Whilst many Christians still remain stuck in their false rituals and baseless ways, Biden adds to this frustration by declaring 31 March, a Transgender Visibility Day – which this year coincides with Catholic Easter Sunday. Biden mentioned he has the back of the transgenders and embraced them.

RT reported, “on top of that, as a part of the inclusivity campaign, the White House has also prohibited children from submitting Easter eggs decorated with “questionable content” such as “religious symbols, overtly religious themes” from the traditional Easter Art contest. The event is a vital component of the White House’s annual Easter celebration that has been in place for nearly 50 years.”

Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson called the step “outrageous and abhorrent’ tradition-busting moves,” while Jim Blanks, the GOP Senate candidate said that it was “a slap in the face to hundreds of millions of Christians in America and across the globe.” Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene claimed that “there is no length and the Democrats won’t go to mock your faith, and to thumb his nose at God.”

Former president and presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump has also responded to the controversy, branding the move “blasphemous” and accusing the Biden Administration of “years-long assault on the Christian faith.”

It is appalling and insulting that Joe Biden’s White House prohibited children from submitting religious egg designs for their Easter Art event, and formally proclaimed Easter Sunday as ‘Trans Day of Visibility,” the Trump campaign said in a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, demanding an apology from President Biden.
