Much sweat and effort went in to starting Deoband but we have to draw the distinction and openly say that the Darul Uloom of Deoband today does not represent the Darul Uloom Deoband of yesterday.
The Deoband Darul Uloom of today does not represent the Sunnah of Rasulullah Sallahu Alaihi wa Sallam. People think of Deobandiyyat to be the Darul Uloom of today.
Rather it is worlds apart. Chairs that needs a dress? This was never the way of our Akaabireen who brought alive the Sunnah wherever they walked.
Upon occasion the Sheikhul Hadith, Hadhrat Moulana Saleemullah Khan Rahmatullahi Alaihi addressed a Bukhari jalsah with a real concern:

Hadhrat Moulana Saleemullah Khan Rahmatullahi Alaihi expresses in a worried tone, addressing those present from the Ulama and those who completed the Aalim course:
“Today our Ulama and students have left the way of our pious predecessors mentioned. Today television sets can be found in houses of Molvi’s.
Today various speeches of Molvi’s have become movies. Easily accessible are pictures of Molvi’s talks with ghair (mahaarim) women.
I have seen many big Mufti’s eating with a folk and knife.
That is why, seeing such a big group of Scholars, I find the need to address this. Many people will dislike what I have to say. You can understand it to be bad but I am least concerned. Whoever is unhappy with with what I have to say, I remain unmoved.
The very pious seniors whose names I have taken, I am witnessing a major change in their progeny.
That is why today I am offering these well wishing advices to those who wish to be successful then you will stay away from this new inventions. If you follow these new inventions, you will destroy yourself and others. The way to salvation is one:
Quran – Surah No. 9 التوبةAyah No. 119
أَعُوذُ بِاللّٰهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
يٰۤـاَيُّهَا الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ وَكُوۡنُوۡا مَعَ الصّٰدِقِيۡنَ (119)Translation:
O those who believe, fear Allah, and be in the company of the truthful.
Choose Taqwa and to attain Taqwa you know better you have to remain with the truthful.
Many people adopt the mannerisms of the Saadiqeen, but I say on oath that they are not Saadiqeen
That is why you really need to take precaution!”
Now let us just witness the reality of Moulana Saleemullah Khan Rahmatullahi Alaihi’s concerns regarding “the changes in the progenies of the pious”
Remember not too long ago Moulana Arshad Madani had sold the Muslims. He had said that even Muslims should be able to enter revered sites. No, he was not referring to Masaajid, he was referring to temples until a Hindu had cornered him properly. This is what happens when you sell Islam for a cheap price:
