Forbidding the Evil

IMAAM EBRAHIM BHAM SLAMMED FOR LAUGHING EMOJI @ MALAWIANS IN DISTRESS

A brother writes:

“It is profoundly disappointing when individuals entrusted with religious leadership display conduct that undermines the dignity of their position. A recent post, “free trip home” accompanied by a smiley, directed at Malawians, reflects not compassion but mockery of those who are already downtrodden and destitute.

True leadership calls for empathy and sorrow in the face of suffering, not derision.

We are reminded that these very Malawians have faithfully served our Masaajids. When Masjids were closed by the very same ‘friends of the court’, it was their dedication as Malawian Mu’azzins and caretakers that ensured daily salaah continued and our Masjids remained Abaad, whilst they paraded themselves as the ‘friends of the court’.

Yet today, they are subjected to humiliation, as in the case where one brother was abused for failing to clean a toilet for a ONE Salaah. As the community of Middleburg? Such treatment is not only unjust but deeply ungrateful.

The question must be asked, tomorrow it is a Somalian, Nigerian, Indian, Pakistani, or Bangladeshi brother and will the same disdain be shown? Will another post celebrate their hardship with a smiley face? This attitude reveals qualities rooted in arrogance, racism, and xenophobia, A disregard for the creation of Allah. It is a manifestation of the self-centered trinity: me, myself, and I.

And O Muslims remember very well at the SAUF conference in Lusaka the Muslims were attacked at told if you can’t agree with the constitution of the country that why are you here, implying then leave, What divine revelation did you get from Luthuli house to decide who lives where on Allah’s land? This is smacks of Islamophobia?

Leadership demands humility, compassion, and justice. Anything less is a betrayal of trust and a stain on the honour of the position.

This is the level of disgrace so-called ulama who supposed to have leadership qualities behave like teenagers trapped in a 65 year old man’s body

The issue does not end here. The government itself has been called out for lacking principles and operating primarily on self interest. To then offer uncritical praise or allegiance to an organisation so widely perceived as devoid of values is a striking contradiction. Such conduct reflects not integrity, but a willingness to compromise for expedience, revealing a troubling absence of genuine conviction.”

Molvi Bham takes out the time in a group called, “Ulama Corner” to laugh and mock at Malawians during this time of distress, calling this unrest “a free trip home”.

These are the interfaith leaders who call for unity?!
