PAUSE THE WAR TO POISON THE KIDS WITH POLIO VACCINES

The World Health Organization (WHO) announced on Thursday a “preliminary commitment for area-specific humanitarian pauses” during a polio vaccination campaign set to begin on Sept. 1 in the Gaza Strip.

“Now it’s critical that we reach 90 percent vaccination coverage,” said Rik Peeperkorn, WHO representative for the Occupied Palestinian Territory, adding that the campaign will be conducted in two rounds.

The war continues with the targets upon women and children. Heads were severed of these two categories which the WHO generally moans about their rights in other areas of the world. When they were and continue to be blasted with Israeli terror and horrific bombs then there were absolutely no signs of a pause. Are these people less human? Why the double standards. However polio seems to be the threat?

Hamaas should not accept this pause but rather have vision and understand the plot of the squatters. Do you really think they care about the children of Gazzah? The double standards of the WHO is really disturbing.

Al-Awda Hospital nearly out of fuel: Director

Mohammed Salha, the acting director of the hospital in the Jabalia refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip, says that operations will cease within 24 hours if more fuel to run the facility’s generators does not arrive.

Salha said al-Awda is trying to run small generators as much as possible to conserve fuel so that it can continue to provide healthcare for the sick and wounded.

He also said the facility is rapidly running out of medical supplies, and appealed to the UN’s World Health Organization for a restock.  (Al-Jazeera)

Where is the WHO when these hospitals run out of fuel?

Nine children killed in az-Zawayda attack

We can now bring you more information on the victims of Israel’s attack in central Gaza’s az-Zawayda.

All 15 people killed in the attack are members of the same family – the al-Ejlah family – said Palestinian Civil Defence spokesman Mahmoud Basal.

Among those killed are nine children and three women, he added.

Ahmed Abu al-Ghoul, a local who witnessed the assault, told AFP that three rockets hit the building the family was sheltering in while women and children were inside.

“What have they done to deserve this?” he asked. (Al Jazeera)

Again the question, children are attacked but there is no concern?

At least 16,480 Palestinian children have been killed in Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip since last Oct. 7, local authorities said on Monday.

“The victims included 115 babies,” Ismail Thawabteh, who heads Gaza’s government media office, told Anadolu.

He said 35 Palestinian children have died from malnutrition and dehydration amid a tight Israeli blockade on the enclave.

“At least 3,500 children in Gaza are facing the risk of death amid a lack of food and malnutrition under Israeli restrictions on the delivery of food into Gaza,” he warned.

“More than 17,000 children have lost their parents or at least one of them after they were brutally killed by Israeli occupation forces” since Oct. 7,” Thawabteh said.

For months, international and UN agencies have warned from a negative psychological impact on Palestinian children due to Israel’s devastating offensive on Gaza.

Flouting a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate cease-fire, Israel has continued its brutal offensive on Gaza since an Oct. 7, 2023 attack by Hamas.

The Israeli onslaught has since killed over 40,130 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured more than 92,740, according to local health authorities.

More than 10 months into the Israeli onslaught, vast tracts of Gaza lie in ruins amid a crippling blockade of food, clean water, and medicine.

Israel is accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice, which ordered it to immediately halt its military operation in the southern city of Rafah, where more than 1 million Palestinians had sought refuge from the war before it was invaded on May 6.

In April 1955 more than 200 000 children in five Western and mid-Western USA states received a polio vaccine in which the process of inactivating the live virus proved to be defective. Within days there were reports of paralysis and within a month the first mass vaccination programme against polio had to be abandoned. Subsequent investigations revealed that the vaccine, manufactured by the California-based family firm of Cutter Laboratories, had caused 40 000 cases of polio, leaving 200 children with varying degrees of paralysis and killing 10.
