Radio Islam hiding under the SHIA duvet needs to answer some serious questions by Ulama. Having a Ramadhaan pledge on Saturday claiming:
“In a world of noise and misinformation, Radio Islam remains a trusted voice for the Ummah…..”
A message, the Ummah must be informed of, together with the letter of the following Ulama:

RADIO ISLAM AND THE SHIA DEBACLE

With the killing of the Supreme (senseless) Leader of the UnIslamic Republic of Iran, Ali Khamenei, the vision of Muslims have once again become blurred and many are hailing him as a hero and martyr, which is furthest from reality.
Khamanei was the butcher of millions of Muslims in Syria and under his leadership many proxy wars were funded in different regions.
At times like these the Muslim Ummah requires guidance and clarity from their Islamic Institutions, especially those who have a public voice and far reach.
It is indeed unfortunate when some of these institutions become the very cause of the blurry vision of the public , by not making a clear distinction between Imaan and kufr, and worse, portraying Shia kuffar as Muslims.
In this regard, on 6th February 2026, Radio Islam interviewed an open and prominent Shia, Shaheed Mathee , and granted him a platform to discuss current affairs. To the disgust of viewers and listeners he was introduced as ‘Imaam’.
When Radio Islam was questioned regarding this unfortunate event on social media they immediately deleted the interview. Why?

Subsequently, on 10th & 11th February some concerned Ulama and brothers PRIVATELY AND RESPECTFULLY sent a letter to the two station managers at Radio Islam, one via email, and the other via WhatsApp, asking for an explanation regarding the matter and also requesting that a public clarification be done for the guidance of the masses. The letter was simply ignored.
On 22nd February, a reminder was sent to one station manager on WhatsApp asking for a response. Again, complete silence.
Another post on X on the same date was also simply ignored.
We reproduce the letter sent to them in the hope that perhaps they will be reminded of their duty to provide guidance to the public during these times of confusion and uncertainty as Radio Islam has referred to themselves as the ‘Voice of truth’ and has asked for financial support in their ‘Battle of hearts & minds’. We, the public/Ummah, should ensure that our financial contributions are being used for the spread of Deen and not for spreading falsehood. May Allah ta’ala protect and guide us all.

Reference: Radio Islam giving a platform to a shia.
It was deeply disturbing and deplorable when we came across a post on the 7th February 2026 wherein we learnt that Radio Islam had honoured and given airtime to the notorious Shaheed Mathee. Mathee is a well known modernist and has, for many years, been pushing shia agendas across numerous platforms in addition to calling for unity with shias. He has on multiple occasions made it known through his association with various shia organisations that his beliefs align with that of the shia cult, which is clear cut KUFR. Many of his talks are based on furthering their sinister agendas. One simply has to browse through the transcripts of his various talks at the Ahlul Bait Foundation of South Africa (AFOSA) to see that he has on multiple occasions, denigrated the integrity of Sayyidina Abu Bakr RA with regards to the incident of Fadak.
He has also been known to be at the forefront of inciting a failed shia takeover at a certain Masjid in Gauteng.
Shias have been notorious to call for unity when they are in the minority and when they are in the majority they butcher the Muslims as history can testify to on numerous occasions with the most recent being the brutal massacre and torture of Muslims in Syria by the evil notorious shia, Bashaar Al Asad and backed by the tyrannical Iranian shia government.
What was even more disturbing was the manner in which Radio Islam introduced Mathee during his programe. Nazams singing the praises of Sayyiduna Hasan and Sayyiduna Hussein Radhiallah Anhuma were used as an introduction. The real perception would be that this was done to curry favour with Mathee. Whereas in reality this is pandering to the shia and their hypocritical facade of love and obedience to Sayyidina Hasan and Sayyidina Husain Radhiallahu Anhuma.
Furthermore, he was referred to as Imaam Shaheed Mathee. Since when does Radio Islam refer to so called scholars using shia terminology?
This whole incident was a grave error on the side of Radio Islam. It calls into question whether the allegiance of Radio Islam lies with the Noble Sahaabah Radhiallahu Anhum or those who hate and abuse the beloveds of our Nabee Sallallahu alayhi wa Sallam? We strongly recommend that Radio Islam issue a public apology and a retraction for honoring those who hate Sahabah Radhiallahu Anhum. Radio Islam is supposed to be a leading voice in promoting the beliefs of the Muslims (Ahlus Sunnah) and not promoting the people who disparage, insult and hate Sahabah Radhiallahu anhum ajmaeen. It is not acceptable that the Radio Station is using its platform and Muslim’s money to honour shias and hurt the heart of Sayyidina Rasullullah Sallallawhu Alayhi Wasallam, Ahlul Bayt, Sahabah Radhiallahu Anhum and the hearts of the Muslim Ummah. shias are not our friends and neither is Mathee. In fact the radio should be using the platform to educate the masses about the lies and fabrications of the shias against Allah Ta’ala, Sayyidina Rasullullah Sallallawhu Alayhi Wasallam, Sahabah Radhiallahu Anhum and against Islam.
We deem Radio Islam’s hosting of Mathee to be in direct opposition to the organization funded by JUSA, Mahajjah. Mahajjah strives to educate the masses about the dangers of shiasm. As a sister organization of JUSA, Radio Islam should also be promoting the beliefs of the Muslims (Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaah) and not doing damage to our Deen by bringing it into disrepute by hosting individuals the likes of Mathee et al.
Our loyalty should only be to Allah Ta’ala and accordingly to the Sahabah Radhiallahu Anhum and the political climate or other factors, should not dictate to us nor pressurize us to try and be all inclusive at the expense of showing disrespect to the Sahaabah Radhiallahu Anhum, which is in fact insulting Sayyiduna Rasullullah Sallallawhu Alayhi Wasallam and Ahlul Bayt.
We request that Radio Islam does an immediate public apology and retraction
Additionally, due to this whole debacle that unfortunately unfolded live on air, we deem it absolutely necessary for Radio Islam to publicly state their stance regarding shiasm to further clarify any previous misunderstandings that may have arisen due to the live broadcast. Failure to do so will continue to erode the credibility of Radio Islam in the eyes of the Awaam.
Failure to rectify this matter, will regrettably leave Ulama and others who have true love, loyalty and honour for Sayyidina Rasullullah Sallallawhu Alayhi Wasallam and the Noble Sahaabah Radhiallahu Anhum (includes Ahlul Bayt) with no option but to warn the public to be wary of Radio Islam and its affiliates and dissociate from them and their activities and not to contribute financially to Radio Islam who are promoting the haters of Sahabah Radhiallahu Anhum Ajmaeen
We trust that appropriate steps will be taken to rectify this very unfortunate situation and ensure such incidents are never repeated.

May Allah Ta’ala make us rightly guided and make us a means of guidance for ourselves and the Ummah and save us from misguidance or misguiding anyone. Aameen
